About the Teacher
(Pirque, Maipo Valley – Chile) composer, arranger and music producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and Chilean guitarist who has worked mainly in the field of folklore, Latin American popular music and fusion.
He studied contemporary classical music at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and later received a degree in Popular Music Composition and Instrumental Arrangements at the Escuela Moderna de Música y Danza in Santiago. He later studied a diploma in Music Industries at the UAH and studied music production with Maestro René Calderón. He learned with the cultor Mr. Alfonso Rubio Morales the Chilean Guitarrón and Canto a lo Poeta, becoming one of the young people who formed the new generation of cultors and guitarroneros. He has made several trips to Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Cuba with an investigative approach to folklore and popular music, seeking to receive the knowledge and worldview from its natural source through the teachings and friendship of the cultores.
He started on stage as a singer and performer in chordophones and percussions in the Latin American fusion music band “Mangüé” between 2007 and 2009, directed by maestro Lincoyán Berríos. Later he directed the music and dance group of Cueca Brava “La Clandenta”. Currently he leads the group of New Root Music “Los del Maipo”, participating in the direction, arrangement and arrangement of the group’s music.
