African Congas – Talking Drum – African Drum
This series is inspired by a family of Diola ethnic drums in the Casamance region of southern Senegal called Bougar.
It is a game of two, three and up to four drums handmade in a single piece of hard wood, of very beautiful finish and deep and mysterious sonority.
Its mounting system is by reinforced hardware worked manually and are designed not to puncture the wooden hull, keeping intact the sound and at the same time giving the hardware greater strength and durability.
The leather is buffalo or bull, which makes the drums reminiscent with American congas or lying downers in their middle and high range but adding them for their kind of shape and manufacture a sound of deep bass and with a lot of duration similar to that of the djembe drum.
It is a drum game that allows the percussionist musician to create countless rhythms with a lot of melodic presence, since you can search for specific notes and scales and its area of action is very close to the human voice.
