Djembe, Dun Dun and African Songs Lessons – Online and In-Person in Buenos Aires

Characteristics of the lessons:

  • Classes are for all levels. The groups are separated by levels and the individual classes go to the rhythm of each student.
  • In the classes we approach the djembe and dun dun drums from their traditional form.
  • We work on technique/sound, ensemble, improvisation and also the traditional songs of different West African ethnic groups. We see the traditional rhythms of West Africa and how they are assembled with the different accompaniments and songs.
  • We also learn the history of each rhythm and what it was traditionally used for. In the same way, the similarity with other music such as Argentine folklore or folklore from different parts of America and the world is taught. African music is the mother and father of many world musics and learning this music makes you know the rhythmic roots of many musical styles.
